Wow, I followed project contingency very much but this is the first post of mine EVER!

But because of that this is a fan-made halo game, I want to share my own :D
Sadly enough, the graphics of the gameplay is bad, the code is pretty good but the sprites? nah.

I don't mean to seem like I hater but I don't like the sprites at all. Maybe try and make it a 16 bit style or something more appealing.

thx for the comment, indeed the spritings of mine aren't good, and with a reason.

I had a spriter and he said that he would make all my sprites, so I didn't take too much time on the sprites because of that he'll fix them. But after fixing some sprites he stopped. And now Í've like 100 bad sprites. So it'll take a while before I can release demo 1 (yes, I planned all the demo's already, but still no release dates, just what will be in the demo's) And i got some awesome sprites from other spriters who did some of the sprites, but those are epic, and it's just too epic for the other sprites, that's also a problem. And no, i won't make it 16-bit, I want to make it a sirious fan-made halo game with the graphics of halo owaw (well, not that good, close to it xD, cuz those were pro)

But ok, if somebody has a question on this game, then ill love to answer it, like what the story will be like, or what demo's ive planned (it was a shit load of info and i only answered small questions on the YouTube channel)

Well the reason I told you to make your sprites into 16bit was because in your "trailer" you used like 32 bit style...

well, its no trailer, its actually something to keep my motivation, i lost my motivation in this project a month ago and it already got 3 fully playable firefight maps, so i hoped that if i released some info for the first time in public ill have some more motivation in finishing it, and even if i didnt get many attention, it still worked :D, so now ill (hopefully) be finished quicker : 3

As mentioned earlier the sprites aren't the best, indeed. The Pelican, especially. I like the moving background though! Static backgrounds are my pet peeve
What will be in the demos? And where will one be able to download them?

Lol thanks, for the compliment of the background :D, I know that the pelican looks like shit :/, but graphics is the main category for my updates :D.

And the demo's, that's a bigger story. Until now I've planned what will come in the first 4 coming demo's:

1. 3 fully playable firefight maps against the covenants, 1 in a canyon, 1 in a open field with many meteors and lava :D, and one in a unsc city (with playable vehicles, this will maybe be the only map with playable vehicles and im not mentioning turrets, all maps got at least one mountable turret)

2. another 2 firefight maps, bot in corridors in a halo where the campaign will be played on, but one against flood and one against sentinels, the maps are both different

3. the very first campaign level

4. the whole campaign, it will probably include 7 levels.

Ill also probably release a pre-demo 1 for public soon, but it'll still have bad graphics, but just so people can get the feeling of the gameplay.

One last reminder for all of you guys, if I release the pre-demo 1, then plz dont't get mad about the graphics, cuz I'll change the very most of them in the release of demo 1.

I totally understand. I can't draw worth crap.

You could always take owaw's sprites... I have them in a sheet and I can lend them to you if you want. You might have some minor trouble ripping them because most sections aren't arranged uniformly and as far as bodies go you'll be manually assembling the spartans using assorted arms and legs... but yeah. xNFx Monsta has them too.

Because I'm curious, what engine are you using?

first of all, thanks for mentioning the owaw sprites, but only the cutscenes will be like platformer, the gameplay will be top down. But maybe I can use them for the cutscenes ;D

And the engine is game maker studio pro, just like halo owaw ;D

you mean AI? well, I found a script for that, but I even made up my own code for it, first it checks the point direction to the object of the master, then it checks if the value is between direction - 30 (just an example) and direction + 30

PS: 117 views :D

PPS, if you want to see how the game looks like atm, just ask, i need testers *** well ;D (you don't have to test if you want to see the game, i would just appreciate it : 3)

thx, this video was also to help me, because i lost my interest in the game a month ago, but im very motivated in the project now because people know the game, so it isnt only for me why im coding it :D

and its not in flash, its in game maker studio pro ;D

Paint is not an animation software.

I think GMS has built-in actionscript compatibility though. Flash animation wouldn't be that much of a stretch... and even if it was, couldn't you just convert the flash movie into a gif or something?
