No, they focused on the main storyline of Humans vs Covenant. Imagine if in Halo 3 you're playing and all of a sudden they introduce 8 characters from the extended lore without any sort of fleshing out just so it is more inclusive of the HALO lore. It'd be silly.

Not much I want to say about multiplayer. I have very strong mixed feelings for Halo 5. On one hand, the gameplay is pretty much ruined for me thanks to the Spartan Abilities and the ADS/smart scope system.

But I did read about what they're doing for campaign and I am actually pretty impressed. Controlling the AI via commands could finally prevent us from having marines drive us off of cliffs! It will also allow us to tell allies to shoot their sniper rifle I just gave them at important targets like Elites and Promethean Knights, and to use rockets on vehicles a from a distance instead of a grunt that's 2 feet away.

All I'm hoping for in terms of Campaign is a proper introduction for Blue Team as well as Locke and his team. I don't read any of the books or comics, and while I've seen Nightfall, I feel like they still need to introduce him again as if the player went directly from Halo 4 to Halo 5. This is a must for Blue Team as well, because they haven't been mentioned in any previous Halo games at all. Halo 4 really botched this up by just casually tossing in new characters like Palmer, Didact, and Jul Mdama without really explaining them to people who came straight from Halo 3 without a clue (at least Lasky and Del Rio introduced themselves). Halo 3 hinted at the Didact with it's terminals, but relying only on those to Segway into Halo 4's story was not enough.

I also got two Assasins Creed games with it, which were ok, and I plan on getting GTA V for it eventually too. Not sure if I'm going to be buying Halo 5 though. Gameplay makes up more than half of the game, and I'm not going to support a game when less than 50% of it is fun for me.

The only reason I'd ever get a console for is an exclusive. Like I got my xbox 360 specifically for Halo. 7 or so years ago. AC/GTA all playable on PC and are significantly better on it.
MCC, I mean this is each to their own. But in my opinion it's a massive rip off. I mean seriously, re-release Halo games and charge for them again? sounds very cheap. On the contrary, it made some people happy to be able to play those old titles on their new consoles.

And MCC was a fuckup in the end, and now I just found out from you that ODST won't have firefight. Also heard some rumors that Halo 5 won't have split screen campaign. (Don't take my word on this, just heard about it a few days ago)

So yeah, in general I've lost hope for consoles. 343 especially.

People mainly change their name to those ridiculous things because on PC, name changes are very easy. Can't say the same for consoles. That's why you usually see a more sensible decision being made for a name there. I can guarantee you if name changes were as easy on consoles, and you weren't limited to those generic profile pics. You'd see a lot more of that stupid shit there too.
