I got an idea for a map so I made a simple 3d model for it and I'll show some photo's of it.
The game will play the best with slayer and ctf, but other modes will probably be possible too.
The idea is simple, there are 2 bases, and each base has got some mongooses and a turret, between the bases is a slope, you can stunt over the broken bridge with the mongooses, but you can also go in and out the slope so you can walk to the other side.

BSP isn't so great for building maps, try filling it in with meshs instead (That is if BSP's are what I remember them to be). I think it's a fantastic start to a new map, maybe add a second underground tunnel area; that should be a great step up in skill building and may appease Mootjuh a little.
P.S. rippling the terrain will make it much less bland. Just be sure to have line of sight blocking and grenade arcs/rolls in mind.

yeah, those ideas are pretty good, maybe ill add it some day ;D

Yeah. As it is, the map only has one lane. That doesn't provide a whole lot of tactical gameplay. Cover and terrain help tie that up. Maybe put in a pathway from each base to the ravine to make it two lanes. Which is kinda what senjin said about the underground tunnel area but oh well.

that could actually work very well, an underground tunnel heading to the ravine, so if you fall down with the mongoose then you are stuck in the tunnels, that would be great :D

My main issue is you force players to use a vehicle as going on foot would take too long and thus not preferred. It should be the other way arround. Allow people to go on fopt easily and possibly add some obstructions for vehicles.

Use cover to define one or two easily navigatable vehicle lanes, so you can predict where vehicles will be coming from and prepare for it.

How would you prepare? Powerweapons are near the middle of the map. Knowing they will come won't help much. You need to give players on foot a chance(like grav lifts or teleporters) and/or make a gate similar to High Ground.

thats also possible, but the first thought of me was adding very few vehicles so you nearly never have the possibility to use one, but when you got one then you can go much faster and easyer

hmm, maybe, but im thinking of redefining the map, so there is an underground way to the other base, and there's the broken bridge only possible to pass by with the mongoose, but you need to be very fast, if you arent fast enough, then you fall down and you cant get up so you need to follow the underground way to the other base

Bases shouldn't be connecter through an underground way. Nobody would go outside on foot that way.
I suggest looking at many gameplay vids ans vidocs on how the map affects gameplay strategies.

What if red team decides to go on foot and blue team in vehicles? They won't even meet eachother.

Except Red team wouldn't be stupid enough to go outside because there are 2 warthogs and a tank waiting for them outside.

Why would you unbalance the vehicles unless one team had a weapon advantage?
Like highground, there was the spartan laser arguably on the border between the two sides but you couldn't get to it unless you were inside the complex. The other team had a mongoose and a ghost or so though so they could infiltrate the base more easily.

i know the point he's making, thats why i said that there were only 2 vehicles wich got a very long respawn time, so you will nearly be forced to go on foot, but when there spawns a mongoose then its a good treat because you can take a faster way to the other base, its so easyR93_Sniper wrote:I think you're missing the point hes making
