I'm just not enjoying the game, and honestly that's all that matters in the end.
Lol that's tragic haha
What games are you going to be playing? I hear Doom is pretty good ;')

Re: Dedicated Halo 5 Thread
I haven't played it in a good while, but last I did I was still enjoying it. It hasn't been due to any fault of the game, I just haven't been on my xbox (haven't finished fallout 4 either) cuz I've been playing TF2 and ofp/arma cwc on my pc as of late.

Re: Dedicated Halo 5 Thread
Halo 5 honestly isn't a lot of fun as someone who is pretty bad, and as someone who doesn't like competitive play at all. I even play casual in games I'm half-decent at, if it's available. Most of the multiplayer aspects of Halo 5 are more suited for competitive play, and the casual part has been somewhat abandoned. Yes, they've added a casual playlist, and warzone is pretty fun, but it still feels like 343 is treating those like me as second-class customers.
Super happy that they're adding infection, though. I always enjoyed that in Reach matchmaking. And they're adding firefight warzone, so even more casual matchmaking for me!

Yeah kinda sucks for the "casual community" although I tend to refrain from using that term I do know it does apply to a lot of people ,but yeah Honestly Halo 5 isn't that fun for Non-sweaty players
343i have been taking small steps at reclaiming that populace what with Infection,WZ firefight and a whole update dedicated to Halo Reach... the Most "casual" Halo game of all
also they added Multi-team today and I was playing that with two other friends and that felt really fun and social I guess lol
(sidenote #548234) does anyone remember when Reach was plagued by "Emos" "Couples" and that crappy Assasination tower minigame?

Re: Dedicated Halo 5 Thread
Multi-team was fun when I had friends to play with, but I only ever play on the Xbox One to play Halo 5, which I don't do terribly often. Consequently, I don't have any friends on there (granted, it is my roommate's Xbone/Account). Multi-team doesn't seem particularly attractive to me at the moment, but I am happy that they actually added it to the game.
And one of my friends (who was a little younger, mind you) had a "date" with a girl at a restaurant custom map in Reach. It was cringy as hell, and that same friend told everyone that he was emo. He grew out of it, but I still remind him monthly (if not more often than that).

Re: Dedicated Halo 5 Thread
I'm going through Legendary on the campaigns and spartan ops of MCC and playing multi on Black Ops 3 because I don't have anything else to play. Never cared for Doom, so no interest in that really.
I make games more than play them nowadays anyway.

Oh GOD... Well I've had worse experiences. I remember I was playing custom games with mostly randoms and there was an EMO kid with all black armor + Black visor walking really slowly looking down, with an edgy clan tag I don't recall correctly but of course it was something suicide related... Anyways interested I checked out his gamertag profile and he had a dumb a** bio about how he was going to "Dissapear" because nobody loved him or someshit. I thought it was an isolated incident... Boy was I wrong *sigh* over the course of my Reach career I encountered tons of the little maggots. Not to mention speaking of couples damn I saw those perverts so many times in custom games always flaunting their "Relationship status" with matching emblems with his her partner and stupid clan tags like "His, Hers, Love, mine.etc"
AND worst of all they wouldn't even PLAY the damn game... all they would do is just sit in a dumb a** corner and "cuddle/makeout" IN A FUCKING VIDEOGAME!
Reach also gave birth to the infection nerds who worship the damn mode... *sigh*
(sidenote the Emos are directly linked to the couple it actually makes a lot of sense the long distance halo couples are set up to fail from the start 2 weeks later they break up AND BOOM now you have an emo kid)

Re: Dedicated Halo 5 Thread
I can certainly see why people would want to "make out" in a video game. I mean, who doesn't enjoy twisting the right joystick in small circles in front of another player for extended periods of time?
And Reach infection was pretty sweet. Though, it did get a little boring after a while, with the same people doing the same things over and over again (betraying as much as possible and moving to the air vent in Sword Base comes to mind). There's not really much that can be done about that, and 343 has a pretty successful record of screwing things up, so I have some misgivings about Halo 5 infection. The poor selection of maps certainly don't assuage my fears, either.

Bingo. I remember when Halo maps had interesting, occasionally funny descriptions and were set in cities and ships and places from the actual universe. All the Halo 5 ones other than truth look like they're made for a simulation. They really nailed the war games simulation thing home, and the aesthetic and feel suffered for it.JaggyNos wrote:The poor selection of maps certainly don't assuage my fears, either.

Pretty much but hey the new arena map that released this month is freaking lit, I'ts probably the most beautiful Halo 5 map currently out right now, it also has a really badass description about the Flood war and stuff
And yeah pretty much all the arena mpas are just tight corridors with crappy human architecture
*CORRECTION* by "human architecture" I mean UNSC 2558 architecture
which basically consists of exposed pipes running trough the floors and walls + another bland metallish texture
Human architecture is okay like for example New Mombassa, Zanzibar, Ghost Town.etc

I have to echo this after seeing "competitive Halo" mentioned recently.Neesy wrote:Competitive Halo is dead
I don't mean to sound rude but some of you guys must be smokin' a hard drug if you think 343 is catering to competitive Halo. I don't even consider how 343 is developing Halo to be competitive—more like CoD pandering. Competitive Halo from 6, 9, 12 years ago, now that's actual competitive Halo, which was sponsored by MLG too. I'm not a fan of this modernized Halo at all.

total rejection.
I do plan on playing the campaign though. As bad as it may be, I still need to be somewhat up to date on the story. But as I said even before it released, I never bought the game, I waited until my local library was stocked with a copy and I will be renting it for free as soon as it's available. Even with all the updates the game still isn't worth my money, because adding stuff to a game I was never interested in is not going to sway my opinion of that game.

Re: Dedicated Halo 5 Thread
Not to mention that virtually everything they've been adding after launch should've been released at launch as a core part of the game. It's pitiful, especially seeing people actually getting excited for content that should've been a part of the base game.SilentGamer64 wrote:Stevedoggen wrote:I think everyone on this forum has some level of gripe with 343, whether relatively small or total rejection.total rejection.

If you want to be up to date with the story just buy the Halo Mythos which comes out in October
I'ts only like 29.99$ to pre-order
IF you're not interested in Halo 5 there is no reason to buy it
Sureee maybe by the end of this year there might be some pretty rad content worth checking out but that's about it I guess.

Woo played a ton of WZ Firefight BETA today with the crew and boy is it fun!... too bad it's a joke of a difficulty we Only lost twice! out of 10 or so matches!
But still it's really fun and I love how you can Hijack enemy phaetons by just using a regular ol plasma pistol!
I also love how the objectives are Dynamic and random! no match I played was the same all of them had varied enemy encounters and various objectives from fighting off a huge banshee swarm, Defending a garage from hordes of prometheans, Or fighting off 2 Regular Wardens + a Mythic Warden in the middle of a battlefield with tons of small cannon fodder enemies blasting at you!
Still I found it really easy and cheap how you can just have your team hijack phaeton's and banshees with plasma pistols and just wreck havoc lol
Also these little maggots are back oh hell nah

Re: Dedicated Halo 5 Thread
My power adapter died so to save battery power on it I played some H5. I tried the FF beta playlist and honestly it tends to strike me the wrong way a lot. First of all the whole thing is a competition to see who can get to the enemies first, then someone can completely steal a kill on a shielded enemy if you run out right before or as his shields pop. The enemy spawns also seem bad at times. There was one point during the second or third wave where I was in the garage when the wave started and a group of prometheans spawned in literally on top of me. Later we came back into the garage to clear it out and I managed to find a scattershot. Cool. So I went up the stairs looking for someone to shotgun and a knight walks up and I pump four rounds into him while he's meleeing some other poor spartan and then he turns to me and oneshots me.
In the original firefight they told you when enemy waves were coming, and they had a convenient turret to give you maximum warning if you were near. Now they only tell you when there's bosses coming, otherwise they just give a generic "Promeathans are attacking the garage!" or whatever. Not to mention in firefight there was a kind of safe zone near the ammo crate in most of the maps that gave you temporary protection from enemy fire until they find you. Well now your home base is so far away it's pointless to go back there if you're getting hit because your friends will get so many points from the enemies you weren't killing that you might as well just die.
And then I played 4 arena games, 4 losses, top scorer on my team in 3 of them.

Well they specifically said Warzone Firefight ISN'T classic firefight
I'ts more Warzone then firefight IMO but that doesn't make it bad it plays really fun if you have a coordinated fireteam Playing solo just sucks having shitty REQ loadout weapons is also bad but since I'm SR level 125 with 80% of all unlocks shit was way funner as compared to poor heatguts who had to play with randoms and with probably just a regular BR with no attachments and no Armor ability lol
(P.S if you can play tommorow or so I'll give you a plasma pistol so you can hijack a Phaeton and f*** shit up)
Anyways I'ts friday which means COMMUNITY UPDATE + Canon Fodder!
This week we take a look at a Campaign Update---(Basically a revamp of the A.I mechanics enemy weapon balancing, nerfing the Warden.etc these revisions will also affect Warzone and Warzone Firefight!)
A sneek peek of some awesome Forge additions,UI updates, WZ firefight BETA Feedback, Infection Version of arena maps Both in the Aesthetic and Gameplay departments,Some sweet concept art for the upcoming Memories of Reach update which is releasing Early May,
And much much more... https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/community/blog-posts/campaign-relief
And as for the Cannon Fodder it's actually pretty special and big
In-depth look at the upcoming Halo tabletop game :Ground Command
Halo: Ground Command gives you the tools to play out epic battles on Reach between stalwart soldiers of the UNSC and the merciless legions of the alien Covenant. Cities will fall, heroes will rise, and destiny forged in battles that are yours to plan, direct, and implement on the tabletop. From massive tank engagements at Szurdok Ridge to small groups of Spartans deployed in defense of New Alexandria, you are in control, making life-and-death decisions as a UNSC commander charged with the safety of this critical planet. Or take the role of an alien invader, leading the Covenant invasion force as a field marshal ordered to exterminate humanity, at any cost. The Covenant are on Reach. Your troops await their orders.
And an awesome Interview and in-depth look with a fellow acquaintance and his Halo PC Modding community! (more specifically "Sins of the Prophets"
http://www.moddb.com/mods/halo-sins-of-the-prophets They recently released a new update!
One of the best things about the Halo franchise is the abundant bounty of incredible community groups making ridiculously cool content. Often, that content is found within the comfy confines of the Halo games themselves – Forge creations, machinimas, montages, and much more. Sometimes though, you’ll find a zealous group of Halo fans eager to assimilate our favorite universes into entirely different game experiences. The folks who run the Sins of the Prophets PC mod are one such group. As it fit fairly nicely alongside our Spartan Games focus of this week and last, we thought it would be fun to shed some light on this impressive labor of love. We sat down (virtually) with the minds behind the mod to see what they were all about
