My commemoration to friendship still holds up (despite the fact it caused more bickering and whining than actual fuzzy feelings). Ah It feels nice to look at our old profile pictures, I think it's silly that people change theirs so often.

Something really interesting I found. Not mine, but nobody mentioned you can only post your own creations.

How to build a forerunner city. Start with crazy skyscrapers.
Focus on a couple of detailed areas on a building.
Check that building out, making sure you have the detail where you want it.
Then throw it away and start again with a more solid shape. Abandoning the idea that the forerunners would build a human like city.
Stack those few shapes together into one massive building.
Then flip it on top of itself.
Chuck the previous idea and go for a cantilevered and very ornate pattern of a single building.
Take a gander to see if you're going to kill the engine with too much detail.
Shorten it and check it out as a whole.
Throw all that work away and merge the repetitive with the skyscraper arcology.
Check out the handiwork, begin work with design.
Toss the whole level because it could be a game in itself.
How to build a halo. Weave it on a loom.
Early concept of the ark as a dynamic element in the sky.
The same view at night as the arm you occupy spins into darkness. However the ark's many spinning elements are aligned differently.
View from space. Note the ring is a halo under construction. In this concept I didn't want to have anything too much bigger than the halo itself.
The Forerunner city was reused in Halo Legends, episode Origins.

Re: Artwork Thread (56k warning)
It looks like shitty MSPaint art. Making it a higher resolution and actually giving your image depth by shading would go a long way. As for art use Photoshop. I personally use either Gimp or Paint.NET to edit my images. Having a pad to draw goes a long way too.

That's pretty cool. I like how you used the red in the middle. Gives it character or something.

Re: Artwork Thread (56k warning)
I used black pen, the red is thanks to photoshop.
I did do more shading and coloring, if you want to see that.

Reminds me of dragon ball z.
I really don't know why. Probably just the wierd art style and buildings that never really gets addressed. It's neat.

A little while ago an old junior high friend of mine on the east coast needed posters for his smash club, (highschools really let anything become a club, huh).
