It is pretty underrated, matte painting really is appreciable work. It's too bad so much credit is't distinguished between the two fields of work, lumping it all into one and passing credit into the title"CGI." Well it isn't wrong, but nobody ever talks about matte painting, but on a brighter note maybe there is less competition in the industry? I don't know a thing about the film industry.
For me, renown isn't important in a career.

Yeah thats pretty much it, although it can become complicated sometimes. Its not that difficult to learn actually :)

I often find myself in the middle of art, but since I live with stupid. LOTS of stupids, I often lose focus or inspiration in my art. My majority is looking like a freshman high schoolers art. When I am in a serene place, it becomes professional value. Monsta, how did you discover this serenity?

"Professional Value" with art is completely subjective. You don't need "serenity", you need inspiration and/or drive from what I figure.

inspiration isn't my problem, I know excactly in my mind how it should look awesome, but when drawing it it looks shit -.-

Yeah pretty much, If you are finding that you are struggling while producing your art then that means you have lost all interest. If you find yourself losing interest in your art then maybe its a good time to start setting goals while making your art.

We all have those times where we brain storm this amazing idea and get started only to stop halfway when the going gets tough x) If you are still having trouble producing your art after setting some reachable goals then maybe its because you actually don't have a theme or any sort of basis for you to be working towards while making your art.

Basically to sum everything up here "professionalism comes with practice, practice comes with action, action comes with planning". Follow that and you should never lose interest in your art.

The stress levels of this household I live within ruin my focus. As for planning: no matter what I do, my fate is within other people's hands. Want Proof? I have been trying to fill an application out for a job for over a month. OVER A MONTH! The only reason I cannot do this is because my parents are the only ones who know my Social Security Number. They claim they are too busy when in reality, they sit in front of the TV or their phones more than I do! (Talk about Lazy). In short, I need a job; so I can get money and move out, then I can do my art since I could plan a schedule and have less stress.

Sorry, due to blunt force trauma on my head a few times back in the late 2000s, I cant remember how to code. It also makes it hard to learn and remember foreign languages.

Before you bunch of morons started commenting useless crap on this thread, it was used for valuable feedback so i could improve with my use of photoshop. This is seriously starting to piss me off, if a dev wants to lock this then go ahead because it doesn't matter at all they will end up just commenting useless crap on another post.
