Project contingency 1920 x 1080 fan art background.

Not a fan of the skewed lettering but the concept is interesting

Yeah the idea is cool.

But... First off I'd say that in the future you should save your pictures as .png or optimized jpg. They might be a bit heavier but at least the quality is watchable.

Second thing is that the backround isn't blending all that well. As a tablet user I can just play with pen pressure to get good blending but it might be a bit trickier if you are using a mouse. I'd say just to paint on top with a airbrush and play with opacity until it looks okay. Right now it just looks very unpolished.

I love the idea of curving letters but this one might be a bit extreme. Maybe just slightly less plump.

With slight polishing here and there I can definitely see myself using this as a wallpaper.

One it was published as a PNG.
Two the background is using a gradient effect but I guess it didn't turn out as good as it looked in Photoshop.
Three this is is just how it turned out, maybe I'll polish it later today.
Four everyone likes curves, if you know what I mean...

For the background's gradient effect, try using the blur tool on that layer and try to keep the angle consistent with the gradient, ideally it'll look really nice

Might just be that I suck but it feels like taking blur tool out never ends well.

I don't like the curved letters, sorry :/

But still pretty cool though :D

It's indeed my problem that it's the curve ;D, if you want it, let it stay, but it's just my oppinion : 3

A lot of people dislike th e curve of th e "contingency" lettering. I would have merely kept it normal, no warping whatsoever. If you actually really think that th e curve is necessary, then please don't make it look like it's merely wrapped around th e logo; make it 3D, make th e curve actually make sense. Give some thickness to th e letters.

This is because th e contingency logo is, in a way, already textured, giving it a 3D effect. Your warping of it just destroys it.

PS: You can send me th e Photoshop (or if it's not Photoshop, a layered .tif would do) file and I can fix everything wrong with it, if you want. Your second image actually looks even worse due to th e grainy effect.

Well, I guess I should have some actual on-topic things here. So th3 pictures are not .png, and it is even more visible in this newer one.

Quality around th3 wing is eyekilling IMO.

I also don't really like all th3 texture you put into th4t wing. It has too strong contrast, removes th3 iconic diamond shapes and overall looks just very unclean.

Th3 backround is better, it would probably look even better in .png. It still doesn't look all th4t organic, I'd suggest texturing th3 backround up a bit with brushes.

In a post th4t has 13 sentences I had my words replaced with stupid crap 11 times.

It's cool you're learning Blender but I, as well as others, would advise you to learn Maya or C4D.

@Neesy, I know Maya et al are industry standards, however my choice is limited as I am retired and do not wish to spend the amounts needed to rent the software, and due to my age and status I sadly do not qualify for the educational discounts available to most students, whereas Blender is Free to use with good support

Fun fact: Our team leader uses blender and constantly tries to get everyone to use it.

I use blender, but mostly because it's free and not because I actually have a good reason why blender is better than the other alternatives. I also only actually use blender for animating... I find it easier to model things with voxels MERNKERFT STILYE in a utility called voxelshop, then export it as a collada, import it into blender and then export it into whatever I need my model to be (on the rare occasion I need a 3d model)
