So a Cemu dev just posted this video, As far as I can see or read the video is not edited. This means that someone is focusing on certain games too much or someone on the Cemu team sold their soul to the devil.

Wait, if the new Zelda comes out in a dual release similar to Twilight Princess, that means we might be able to emulate it :O

Re: Emulation General
If you are talking about current Cemu features I don't think any online functionality has even been touched. If you are about Cemu in theoretical terms then if they did work towards it you should be able to. Nintendo would probably find a way to choke the life out of it before that happens though. That or likely no servers for us to connect to due to the NX being to current thing.Mootjuh wrote:I wonder if we can go online with it.

Saw this article on a Raspberry Pi being turned into a Gameboy Advanced. Cool Stuff!
http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2016-04/07/raspberry-pi-zero-gameboy
Some PS3 emulation going on here. The framerate really lets you take in the great fanservice. Important to note that it is also running on the Vulkan API.
An emulator called GB Enhanced+ will allow you to make sprite replacements for your favorite Gameboy games. HD packs for Gameboy games can now be done without complex ROM hacking and can even allow for modern features such as colors. :)
A new version of Higan was released. It is my favorite emulator due to the fact that when you play it you can rely on the fact that it emulates both the audio and image of the Super Nintendo almost flawlessly. Even the most obscure of games should feel just as they did back in they day. CRT filters can also be added to get your nostalgia fix.
http://board.byuu.org/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1037
Finally is a talk at the GDC about video game preservation. If you have an interest in emulation and an hour to spare I am sure you will walk away without regret.

Edit: How could I have forgotten Dolphin? Here is an interesting read in my opinion.

Re: Emulation General
Decided it was time to share some interesting stories here.
http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2016/05/long-lost-nes-game-hits-emulators-25-years-after-it-was-made/
You can probably get the idea from the articles title. It is always great to see history be preserved even if that piece of history is prob an average licensed game. Article mentioned it was decent for an unreleased NES game so maybe I'll check it out.
Latest version of Cemu gets the graphics of Mario Kart 8 about right with most of the errors left being lighting related effects. If you have Wii U games you could be playing them on your PC in HD without the need of a remaster in short time.
NSFW https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfuE-QHY-5k NSFW
Some Xbox emulation with the top being House of the Dead 3 and the second being Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball. Do not click the second if you are easily offended by nude and broken 3D models from 2003 or people around you are.
Massive props the Espes and the contributes behind the amazing project. Through XQEMU you are helping preserve entertainment and hardware for future generations.
The absolute mad man is running Pokemon Alpha Sapphire in 2k on an Alpha project. Citra, the 3DS emulator is making great progress. Although I feel bad for the devs of any Nintendo handheld emulation project as they are probably getting bombarded constantly by kids asking if they can play Pokemon on it.
Xenia, the Xbox 360 emulator is actually going ingame now. While not much it is impressive to see the developers continue working on this project.
http://www.epsxe.com/download.php
If you use Linux then Epsxe the Playstation 1 emulator got a new release for Linux. The new version of Epsxe is much better than the previous inferior 1.9.x with 2.0.x having much greater and accurate emulation. While not as good as other emulators it is certainly a step up for emulation enthusiast who like making their 3D games look even better in HD.
On a final note is something related to Playstation 1 gaming. If you know anything about the Playstation 1 then you know that it has a weird effect when looking at 3D objects.
With the new emulation and a touch of improving upon the design a new milestone has been reached.
In short the problem with jittering and texture warping in Playstation 1 games can now be solved with certain tweaks and hacks.
https://imgur.com/a/NmnAk
This helps bring it more in line with the looks of Nintendo 64 and early Playstation 2 games.

It's because the position of each polygon's vertex (corner) is only calculated at a very low precision. Once the polygon moves (or the camera) the vertexes will stay at the same point, until they're closer to the next and suddenly "jump" to the new position without transition. Newer graphics hardware could interpolate smoothly here with more in-between states (that's where all the talk about "floating point precision" came from in graphics).
A lot of games had that. If I remember correctly, a Quake engine (1, 2... or even 3?) has a very strange version of this where animations could be super jumpy and look super-jittery. It looked strange in all games using animated characters in close-range (Kingpin). You would see a head turn and kinda "wobble" in the process.
With the new emulation and a touch of improving upon the design a new milestone has been reached.

Keep in mind that you can also play the Monster Hunter Freedom Unite HD release from the PS3 on a PSP emulator. Apparently the game is just a PSP ISO running on an emulator with HD models and stuff.

Re: Emulation General
I decided to post some cool things here.
A video showing off the 3D NES emulator. I think it would be nice to see how it would work with a VR headset.
http://mamedev.org/?p=427
New version of MAME brings many new fixes to the table. Apparently this also fixes a crash in Solar Assualt during Stage 3. Changes down below.
http://mamedev.org/releases/whatsnew_0175.txt
Decaf can now boot Shovel Knight from the Wii U. Nice to see that the open source alternative to Wii U emulation is still progressing. While Cemu is ahead I don't think it should be ok for the leading emulation platform for a console be closed source.
New Cemu version available for Patrons.

http://cemu.info/patreon/changelog/cemu_1_5_3.txt
A video showing some of the fixes they have made.
https://dolphin-emu.org/blog/2016/06/24/dolphin-50-release/
There is also the release of Dolphin 5.0 for all of your Wii emulation needs. Personally I would stick with dev builds at all times as they are usually stable enough and always have the latest fixes for more accurate emulation.
A nice video to accompany it by the Dolphin team.
A video about PS3 emulation.
http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2016/06/play-a-new-official-ecco-the-dolphin-game-on-your-dreamcast-right-now/
So apparently a new game was found. I still wonder how some of these game concepts even exist.

Re: Emulation General
Was waiting for a certain video to come out from The Ben Heck Show before posting anything.
The first two show off the Nintendo Playstation prototype. It is a device built back in the day that was going to be an addon for the SNES to use CDs. Obviously nothing ever came out of that venture for the market to get their hands on which makes it very exciting for original hardware in a somewhat working state to be found.
The third video is about the Sega Saturn and a new crack to allow ISOs to be played directly from a USB instead of needing the CD drive. Sega Saturns have largely been failing due to deteriorating CD drives. The problem is that you couldn't just replace the drives as not only are they legacy hardware but they were designed to be used specifically with this machine leaving a very limited supply of new CD drives that function properly. This new crack allows us to get around the copyright protection system to allow the systems to continue to play games without failure.
The fourth is the finding of a Nintendo 64 DD. Now some of you may be asking what is a Nintendo 64 DD? A Nintendo 64 DD is a CD drive addon for the Nintendo 64 known as Nintendo 64 Disc Drive. It allowed for much higher quality visuals and sounds relative to the era. It was only released in Japan and was being prepped for a US release but the Japanese version completely flopped causing the project to be cut. Now you may be asking why is this significant since if you can readily purchase a Nintendo 64 DD for a small loan of a million dollars. This version not only comes with a mystery floppy disk that could contain an unreleased demo game for the system but is also the fabled never released and mostly destroyed US ver Nintendo 64 DD.
Now you may be asking what any of this has to do with emulation. Most of these devices if applicable have had their new file systems dumped and will lead to a better understanding of their systems for far more accurate emulation. The Nintendo Playstation if emulated right will give us ability to give CD quality audio to properly converted games without using extensive hacks. The cracking of the Sega Saturn gives us better knowledge of the process the CD drive does to read data giving much more accurate CD reading emulation. The data on the floppy could give us a better understanding of the 64 DD. Very exciting turn of events for the emulation community currently.
Now for the average stuff that gets posted here.

Now this last one is for you peeps that don't have a phone or simply can't be assed to get off your a$$. Introducing playing Pokemon GO on your PC because you don't want to get murdered/raped or your curves make you think you are beautiful so you don't want to lose weight.

Wow, I thought the N64 DD was supposed to run CDs. If it was intended to run floppies, no wonder it bombed!
These are some pretty interesting retro hardware advances here. I didn't realize the guy who found the Nintendo Playstation Prototype let someone take it apart.
Also I understand from the technical standpoint why you would want to run Minecraft in your emulator but I still find it funny someone's playing a console Minecraft on their PC.
