Ripr Moramee, Missingno currently isn't in the game, but I plan on adding it in there eventually. I don't know how I feel about purposefully naming it "Overkill PC", but I could make a trainer for you where your team is Missingno with that as a nickname.
I'm assuming every suggestion after Ripr is just a joke.
Its cool that you are even taking it into consideration bro. Yeah do that man, and give them like weird a** stats each. If you can. You're a cool guy. Cool. Ice-cool. Ice baby cool. Love you bae <3

Yes, but outside is boring. You see the same s**t everywhere:
NPCs known as other people wander this world.
They are strange and poorly programmed. Most of them are generic, claiming to be unique. But just like every other NPC, they only have a goal to make life interesting from time to time. When these NPCs get online, things happen, such as Facebook or Twitter. But who are truly the Player Characters of this poor and troubled world?
We are: the ones, who thanks to the internet, can communicate with one another over long distances. In our local areas, we are surrounded by idiots, unable to choose where to go due to pocketbook sizes being a limit. If we could, we would all move to an ideallic location and become a nation of Players, not generics. The internet is where we turn to see others like ourselves. Sure we may hate some of these fellow Players, but at least the NPC interaction is at a bare minimum.
Another Question is: Who are the NPCs?
Are they simply fallen players who have lost all purpose and imagination, so they just copy what others do like mindless apes? Or are they simply just extras, wasting resources? Who knows. But then again, could a Player be pretending to be an NPC to fit in? After all, an NPC finds out who a player is, it becomes like Inception: the extras will attack he who stands out. Players Unite, we have been separated far too long.
And the internet is our companion, our owl who sends messages at whatever speed your bandwidth allows. We are the Players, we are unique, and you are annoyed by my Philosophical reading here, aren't you?

Re: [FINAL UPDATE] SilentGamer64's Pokemon: Trident Version Thread
But are we the player? To the average npc they are the player, and the other players are their friends, their enemies, perhaps their teachers, their bosses, their family. To them, we are the npc. To some, it is their job to stop us npcs from ruining the world and spoiling the next batch of npcs known as a generation and keep them from electronic devices and near to the higher power of their choice.
Also no, not really.
Also no, not really.

Re: [FINAL UPDATE] SilentGamer64's Pokemon: Trident Version Thread
- Thsi one is really Lengthy guys:
- One can tell who is a Player and who is an NPC. NPCs are ignorant and oblivious to how the world really works. They live day to day, believing that a promotion is a good thing; believing that College is the way. It is not. College leads to debt. And as for Promotions, is it truly worth that extra dollar or two an hour, and have TWICE the work?
No.
The NPCs are generic, they follow orders. But Players carve their own paths. We are trained to become either the NPC or the Main Character. Those who make their own destiny rise up. NPCs are ones who follow the orders given to them by Players or fellow NPCs with higher AI programming. Players stand out, Players are Unique. It is this reason why we have comicon.
Both to unite together with our own, non-ignorant kind. AND to feel as an NPC: Without worry, without reason. We dress up to look like the fellow stormtrooper to our left at the Starwars booth. NPCs are generic, and we escape our uniqueness to feel...Normal. Normalcy is defined by the majority. If a majority wants something, it is voted and allowed into law. If a majority looks at certain ideals, they are declared normal. But the few who look at things differently are considered Abnormal.
We look at $400 shoes and think "What a waste, I could spend seven bucks to walk around". We then look towards the Xbox One and buy it, or a bundle of games. NPCs look at us and say, "Wow they are wasting their money. I get entertained by watching TV". they are Ignorant for they are simply watching Reality TV. We buy games because there is no amount of money you can pay to become an adventurer who slays dragons and zombies; for they do not exist in our tragic world. We Play to escape the many AI around us. We play to live, truly live every day differently. NPCs have a pattern of boredom. Whereas Players...
Players live every day differently. Unlike life, our games progress forward into the future.
Now, to make sure that this doesn't get this thread locked; should we move this sort of disscussion to our own thread?

Re: [FINAL UPDATE] SilentGamer64's Pokemon: Trident Version Thread
- Spoiler:
- But are they ignorant to the ways of the world? They define the world and how it works. The NPCs and their values permeate every aspect of the game's mechanics. We don't share their values, and as such, when valued by them we rank fairly low. We rank low for the reasons you mentioned; we don't care for fancy clothes or higher social status, but rather we gain skill in some electronic art. Who's to say that we know the ways of the world?
College is necessary to gain an education (except in some areas, where you don't need college [theater, authoring books, I'd also say computer science but I wouldn't know for sure] ) and that education helps secure the promotions that are valued so much. They are valued because of their importance, and being important is really what they are all after. They clamor over each other in a CoD-like deathmatch, where sometimes they win, and other times they get shot in the back. In the grand scheme, nobody really has any more wins than they do losses.
And here you are describing players as early adopters, which I certainly am not. I can't be, partially because my computer can't run new things, partially because I wait to spend my money until I think I can get its worth out of it, and partially because I am ignorant of what's going on in the world. I don't live in my parent's basement, I do things other than eat, sleep, and sit at my computer, but ultimately unless it is very important to the area I am in nobody tells me about the news because they expect me to watch it and instead I'd rather be having fun.
NPCs do have worry and reason. Some of them fear higher powers, some of them fear worldly forces, some of them fear each other. I'd argue that in fact we have much less worry and reason as our greatest concerns lie within compact discs, DVDs, or hard drives.
The shoes reflect NPC values. We value things differently, personally, I measure people's worth in the amount of fun they can squeeze into their live divided by the amount of "productive" activity they fill the rest of their time with, meaning mainly learning or working or producing something of value to someone else with the intention of giving it to them, for cash or for free (in units of fun per work). NPCs measure people in how much "productive" things they do, plus how much they do for higher power of their choice, plus how much they do for their political beliefs, minus how much money they spend not doing essential things and things they don't value (like clothes, television, phone internet, etc) and giving their money to people who are worth more than them.
So I actually agree with you for the most of that last part.

So since I've already got all the regulars on here worked up, I edited the OP to prevent the initial post from misleading other people. Let me know what you think of the game on SG Studio!

I've personally never cared for pokemon (simply not my cuppa tea) but this is still interesting to watch. Good luck with the game, mate :)

Also, I'm pretty sure I already gave that idea a decisive "no". It would require me to define new Pokémon data for each of those sprites, which is a waste considering that it would only be used for one battle.

What? Dead? No, I'm not dead. Just because Pokémon Go has consumed my life for the past few weeks doesn't mean I'm dead, and neither is Trident!

I am currently in the process of resuming work on it by crushing bugs and other small things before I start building up the Johto region.
