I might just get an Xbox One.

While Project Contingency looks AMAZING don't get me wrong, I am really looking at things like the MC Collection and then I get that feeling when I first played Halo and I realized This game isn't coming out any time soon. So what do you guys think is an Xbox One a good choice? (Forget about money I have enough of it just tell me whether I should spend it on an Xbox One or not.)

I have a simple flow chart here.
Do you want to play Halo? -----> Buy an Xbox One.
Do you not want to play Halo? -----> Don't buy an Xbox One.
Microsoft has a tendency of allowing most of its exclusives but Halo on the PC eventually while simultaneously shooting themselves in the foot. Whether they are any good is debatable.

To be fair, it's only a decline if you are a Halo veteran so to speak. If you are a new audience member then I imagine it will be a blast. I have little interest in the series and am very content with Halo 1/2 on my PC. Halo 4 and it's ugly brother Halo 5 can go to hell along with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.

I'm fairly new to halo. Halo 4 was the first title I owned (a year after it released), although I'd been modding the trial edition of Halo PC for maybe 6 months beforehand

The only way I'll ever play Halo 2 on the pc is when it gets cracked/CE edition like Halo 1 :(

Halo 2 I believe doesn't work online normally but can still function through third party programs to play online. It's still more dead than George Washington so I was planning of getting a couple of copies to play LAN with my bros. They never got rid of GFWL though so I never really felt getting it was a good idea. Not placing my faith in the cybernetic corpse that is GFWL. The crack version works well for everything but multiplayer so I can live with it.

There is a crack Halo 2 pc? But multiplayer doesn't work? That is LITERALLY the only reason for me to play it. I rarely play campaigns after I've beaten them :(

Then do what this thread is telling you to do... buy and XBONE...

It doesn't matter anyway since Halo 2 PC's community is dead. 10 players a day.

Halo 4 has a badass campaign and Halo 2 anniversary has the most beautiful visuals I have ever seen in a Halo game way better than Halo 5 guardians beta and if you haven't played H1 anniversary well that's a treat too Halo 3 on the other hand is also there i'ts the oddball of the collection :D

be warned though if you love playing multiplayer right now the MP sucks you should wait till the Big Overhaul update which has been delayed like 10 times already :P, anyways if you're a Halo campaign story guy like me then you should buy an xbox one I mean I already invested about 200 hours in the campaigns I already found all the terminals all the skulls all the toys all the fucking collectibles in those 200 hours and yet I still have about 300 achievements to complete LASO,medals,Speed runs.etc also

Halo 4 has a shitty as hell campaign imo. it felt like complete and utter shit and fell apart so fast

It was fine until the prometheans showed up. Boring, repetitive, and a pain in the ***. Not to mention what the **** did they do with the covenant looks and speech? They sounded like robots.

And the fact that the covenant looks weird as ****, man, 343 went all out on "lets make this thing the worst thing ever and the fans will totally hate on this and say that we shouldn't make another game"

^ Agreed ax2themax and jaing I don't know why BUT WHY IN THE WORLD did 343 feel the need to remake every single fucking asset in the game?! they should had kept some of the original weapons like the BR which they seem to had placeholded in a prototype

also the prometheans in this build look like Sentinels, oh yeah that brings me to another thing Forerunner tech looks like shit in Halo 4  and come on they should had made the prometheans weapons power weapons and not default regular faction oriented guns :P also don't even get me started on Master chief's armor seriously?! it's not that they changed it BUT that they have a shitty *** reason instead of straight up saying that the art style changed they say that Cortana used Nanobots in the forward unto dawn to upgrade his armor -_-

anyways apart from all this I liked the environments, the music, the sound fx, the story and all the new forerunner lore not to mention the ending was pretty badass!
(I just hope 343 stops fucking around and removes all those fucking lens flares and Shiny bright christmas lights on the forerunner tech with Halo 5 :P)

There are a few things you have to remember. Bungie and 343 did not own most of the assets that created the Halo titles. They were owned by GearBox. Which Gearbox had rights to Bungie and all of their assets, whilst Bungie were owned by M$ as publishers at the time. 343 had no other choice but to having to re-make 99% of their asset inventory. Specially when the engine code is constantly changing, or had to be re-built. With technology booming and software being able to utilize the fancy hardware we will see more of this sparkle and flares out of future games, let alone Halo.

This was also the reason why even in Halo: CE Ani, 343 had "re-mastered" the original score. It's all about that legality issues since Marty wasn't able to re-produce the score originally.

But set asside all that boring information, 343 could have made a better deal out of the promethian weapons, but if you think they were still cheap, just turn Heroic on and you've got your game.

Well atleast halo 5 guardians seems to be fixing everything 343 broke so we got that :P
