Some photoshop paintings thy made :)
So late last week I decided to start painting in photoshop so atm I am pretty new to it, I was just wondering if anyone here with experience could give me some tips n tricks on how I could improve and while I might paint in real life the difficulty in using my trackpad to paint on a mac is vastly greater o-o
The first image was me basically mucking around with brushes, yeah i know the grass looks funky xD

Eventually id like to be able to do concept art of video games and ect :)

Unless you want to give a repetitive feel, I suggest not using the same colors too often. I at most use 3 colors per quarter of the canvas on the rare occasion I decide to paint. But your not me, so I wouldn't know. Just mesa opinion for da yousa.

Heh. From where I am, Slovenia, you can get a tablet with similar functions for about 20 or 19 Euros.

The paintings look very nice but I'm having hard time reading them.
In the first picture I'm still not sure what I am looking at, am I looking at the sky from the perspective of someone lying on the ground? Or is it a really cloudy landscape?
The second one is definitely better. One thing that captures my eye is that the rock on the left is a lot more blurry than the one on the right, but the left one seems to be closer, and the perspective overall feels a bit broken. I really like the mysterious feeling that the sphere behind the rocks gives and I think it could be a bit more interesting by making the sphere a bit more clear. I'm not sure what the sphere is so I don't know if this makes sense but I think that adding more clear contrast between the sky and the sphere could help.
They are overall very nice. Perspective is little hard to read and it could use a bit more texture but with little bit work on those I think you have potential to make something amazing. Some places seem to be little lacking in shadows but the lighting is probably the thing I'm most impressed about.
Hopefully you can keep these coming!
PS: Just in case that you don't know yet when you press alt its very easy to pick colours and its great for colour blending. By the smooth use of colours I'd expect that you already know it but if you don't then you need to.
What currency do you use? In euros most expensive wacom is the new cintiq 27hd and its only 2.4K. You can get a bamboo for only 80-100 euros and its very good for its price I've heard. I plan on getting the middleground Intuos pro which is only 400 euros and I'd say its probably best one to get on medium budget.

They seem to be missing something... character perhaps? I can't pinpoint it. They look awesome though. Keep up the good work!

I stopped painting in photoshop cause I use a trackpad and its very inefficient :L so eh when i get a tablet next year il start picking up on this style art again x) ( also those were my first two ever artworks done in photoshop no tuts or anything cause i was just messing around and getting used to the program)

No memory doth my mind recall of creating such artworks. Hath my mind deceived me?

This post is completely offtopic but jesus christ. Did you have any experience doing some other stuff on photoshop beforehand?
I actually thought that this post was new, I didn't happen to look at the posting date and just saw a thread I've never seen before. Feeling little bit dumb now.
Hopefully you will get back to painting soon, really impressive getting such rich tones without any pressure sensitivity.

lol it really was my first time using paint tools in photoshop, they aren't that good but the basics are there.
They were also done in 50 mins tops because i did them in a free period ( study period ) during school hours so i could get a taste of what the program had to offer.
I prob will get back to doing that type of stuff in the future and probably very soon. xD
