About the same, unless your phone is laggy or you're using one of those multi-press phones where you need to hit the button multiple times to reach certain letters.

Try GIANT thumbs and over sensitive touch screen. Half the time I try to press space, I accidentally add in a b or a c.

Honestly there's only about two people I use my phone to contact, the rest I do through skype and steam.
