It just hit me that this sounds like something a Bond villain would say. I'm not saying this to be rude or to place any accusations but I can almost hear some scarfaced bald guy with a Russian accent saying something along the lines of "many things have changed since then Mr. Bond. Within a short amount of time the information you wish to obtain so very much will be given to you." I mean no disrespect but I just think it's a funny comparison.

From what I've heard, GOC was getting a bunch of flak from the Halo Maps people, which was giving the GOC team a bad rep and made it hard for them to find more people to help work on the game. So GOC was "disbanded" and was then reformed as Contingency, with a new name to prevent flak from Halo Maps, and new devs interested in working on the game.

This is what happened in a nutshell, from my understanding.

Now that I think about it, it's been a while since I've been on BVG. Maybe I should check in...
