Music tastes? Empty Music tastes?

Post by Ripr Moramee December 21st 2015, 12:51 pm

Just wondering what music most of you are into. In all my years of being alive, I have never met someone with who has had the same interest of music artists/genres as me.

I have a wide variety but very specific. I try never to wander out of it, if a song doesn't hit my ears right. I don't like it, its got to sound good overall. There cannot be just one element of a song I like, all of it has to fit together. I am an audiophile/perfectionist person. The song has to be well produced/synthesized/instrumentally sound. I have got to hear all of the instruments in a song, its like pleasure for my ears. If it does not sound right, its basically torture for my ears.

My artists/bands that I like:

Excision
Deadmau5
Eminem (Old stuff)
Slipknot
Rammstein
Royksopp
Led Zeppelin
Greenday
Gorillaz
Neowx
K-391
Skrillex (His old stuff)
Linkin park (Old stuff again)
Knife Party
And some other shit I can't remember....

I also hate the fact that Justin Bieber has done so many shitty things, yet when he releases a new song everyone is like "Oh wow what a Banger! Gonna go to his next concert" fucking hypocritical self entitled assholes. What music are you guys into?

Ok Here's a list, that will probably be more akin to most of your Father's ( secret )  music collection.

1. Alice Cooper (Schools out album - inc the 'dead babies' track )
2. Pink Floyd  ( Ummagumma - fond memories of drinking from bottles of strongbow cider, Untill 1/2 way through 'Careful with that axe Eugine' track !
3. Yes ( 'Tales from the Topographic Ocean' album, yeah ok 'Dark Side of the Moon' )
4. Pretty much anything Led Zep I II or III until IV then Meah !
5. Some bits of Guns n Roses.
6. Pretty much all of AC/DC's stuff
7. Tie here between early Marillion and Uriah Heep.
9. Allman Brothers Albums
10. Doobie Brothers Albums
11. All of Santana's Stuff
12. And the obligatory girl band stuff, TaTu, Girls school, etc hence the secret collection, after a males hits their late teens, a lot of women ( Spouse, G/F or F/buddy ) tend to feel threatened by such and are prone to make Perv ! accusations. However I maintain that they can play their Instrument / Sing and still look good !!!

2, 3, 4, 7 & 11 were all excellent live too.

If it is original, has some technology or classical, and not close to Pop or (God forbid) Hip Hop, then I will most likely like it. For a good mix of this kind of music, check this out.

I hope this shows you the whole playlist, rather than just Vol. 1.

Babymetal isn't too bad if you don't mind listening to Japanese (or metal at all, for that matter). It's pretty fun listening to them once in a blue moon.

Babymetal does a great job with mixing jpop and metal, and I absolutely love the their sound. Their performances and music videos also have great visual appeal, possibly allowing people who don't like jpop or metal to get into it.

Kalafina is another band that plays more contemporary jpop, and some of their songs are somewhat similar to Babymetal's music, albeit with much less metal. The ed for Puella Magi Madoka Magica shows this off pretty well.

I also love the second op for Fate/Zero, which was also done by Kalafina.

They also have three singers, like Babymetal, though I think Kalafina does a better job with utilizing the range in their singing abilities and styles.

I know Kalafina only because they did music for the Aldnoah.Zero soundtrack (Which by the way is absolutely phenomenal and I suggest you check it out). I believe the song they did was Heavenly Blue (which was the opening song in the first season), cant find that on youtube but definitely go check it on like soundcloud or something else.

A bit of research tells me that the op for Aldnoah.Zero is "Heavenly Blue." Here's the music video for it on vevo - http://vevo.ly/28D80B

Alternatively, you can watch this live performance on youtube.

Havn't seen Aldnoah.Zero, so I can't speak for its soundtrack, but the soundtrack for Kill la Kill is also phenomenal. It was written by the same guy who wrote the ost for Xenoblade Chronicles X, which was criticized for not being as good as the ost for Xenoblade Chronicles, but I think both are good in their own right.

Whoa. I thought that the music sounded familiar, and turns out Hiroyuki Sawano composed the ost for Kill la Kill, Aldnoah.Zero, and Xenoblade Chronicles X. I love this guy's work.
