from my observations Halo 5 might just be able to do that thanks to Forge, The Ranking system,REQ's, and Free DLC

For example maybe in December if a lot of people start wandering off to other games they might see that Forge has been released and immediately hop on aboard
OR maybe if a person that stopped playing finds that a new Free map pack with new vehicles, weapons and forge items has been released they're interest might increase.etc
All tho' I'm pretty sure that even without those things the population will stay healthy in the Long-Run but that's just a hypothesis (my hypothesis) all we can do is just wait... and wait... :(

But my theory goes like this Halo 5 Gets good reviews from IGN, Gamespot.etc I mean Halo 4 had 9.5's and 9.8's lol,

When I can get an Xbox one for $250, I might get one. I don't know though, definitely going to have to wait and see how Halo 5 pans out.

For a console that's been out for 2 years, I'm surprised that the 500gb version has only dropped $50

You could buy a standard 350$ xbox one and then buy a 2TB External hard drive in order to have 2.5gb total Space all while having payed less than 500$
You could also wait for Black Friday maybe there's a Holiday deal or something :P
