I love nature maps like this! Sad that it won't be part of the end product.
I'd love to know what caused it to be unable to run/play. The CryEngine update?

Edit: I'm seeing halo 5 watermarks in the leaked gallery, did someone attempt to leak these as being halo 5 content?

Another question, where are these images from? Are these ingame renders or drawings (would be some impressive work)

Those are in-engine screenshots

Also, if I recall correctly, there was something inherently wrong with the setup of the map which caused it to break. The map was the max heightmap resolution (4096 square meters) but the playable area was much smaller than it should have been as well. Its unfortunate too because during one of our early playtests of the map, I ended up climbing to the top of the mountain on foot, and we decided we'd make an achievement out of that. However, we still have the assets from that map and the original design scheme, so we can rework the map if need be.

Reworking it could be nice! It'd certainly be a nice addition to the game. Walking around, scaling mountains..
The ships flying around also gave me an interesting idea.
Seeing as this game is focused on multiplayer it'd be cool to have the players drop from the ships with pods when they join and/or respawn. It's a scenario that's already used in the halo franchise and could give a better feel than just appearing out of thin air.

But who would have gotten their hands on it? Other than the devs, none of the forum members have access to anything that wasn't publicly shown.

You've got a mole on you're team guys, and he's devaluing your own work by passing it off as 343i's. Whoever it is needs to understand that it's just hurting everyone on the team when they pull this kind of bullsh*t.

:o These look amazing!!!! I love how you guys are dedicated to make it as detailed as possible. It's sad how some people want to do that, leaking stuff people worked so hard on.

I actually have a question. On the bottom left there appears to be water. Are aquatic vehicles being considered??

As I mentioned in an earlier post, majority of the playable area was much smaller than the map. The entire bottom area of the map was water as an active hazard. At this point in time aquatic and subaquatic vehicles aren't being considered until we have every planned vehicle set up first.

What if the hovering covenant vehicles could cross over water (Ghost, Wraith, Spectre, Revenant, etc)? Would that be too overpowering? I think it would be kind of cool, but I know they've never worked that way in any of the actual games.

That would be a bit OP. Water is supposed to act as an active hazard for a multitude of reasons, and that alone would prove to be a HUGE advantage over UNSC forces, one which is hard to compensate for.

Ooh, maybe we can slap some hydrothrusters on them Spartans so they'll stop drowning as soon as they touch water, and then throw some UNSC subs, and some Covenant subs, then we can have an underwater combat scenario.. I'm gonna make a thread out of this.

Jaing don't even. Reason that Spartans don't survive in water is because of the weight of the suit along with the pressure of the water.

Yeah but can't they walk on the floor up to 50 meters deep? Humans can survive that, without a powere MJOLNIR suit. And having thrusters are plausible because if Jetpacks can life Spartans, it'll be much easier to do it in water, because physics.
