Canon Q&A
ITT: post a canon question and receive an answer... simple
I'll go first:
If Humanity had dealings with the prophet prior to the human-covenant war, why were the prophets so hostile to them?

- Answer R93 Made me do this :/ :
- The Prophets discovered that humans were directly related to the Forerunners (Reclaimers) In order to keep the Covenant Empire intact, War was declared to humanity. I got this from Contact Harvest :P

Btw, you should add the questions and answers to the OP in spoilers

Re: Canon Q&A
How did the Diadact's prison shield him from the Halo array? Why didn't the other Forerunners do so?

Re: Canon Q&A
- Not Accurate:
- IIRC they believed that it was their time to move on, make up for the mistakes they made and atone. They willingly sacrificed themselves. I could be totally wrong though.

Re: Canon Q&A
Are the Didact's telekinetic powers part of his armor or just a perk of being an evolved forerunner?

Dang it I was hoping Chiefs newly activated Geas would give him Jedi powers or something....

In halo 3, 343 guilty spark said:
"You are the child of my makers. Inheritable of all the left behind. You are forerunner"
So here are 2 questions, the first one is known to me, the second only partially, here they are:
-Where in the game did he say this? Search here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WN2u-PFgnc4
(tell the mins and secs)
-Why did he say this and what did it mean?

It's because the Master Chief is...
It's because the Master Chief is...
- DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE NOT READY MASSIVE STORY SPOILER:
- Bornstellar ( a forerunner from a LONG time ago), whose geas were imprinted into John's DNA. The Ur-Didact basically turned Bornstellar into a copy of himself, and Bornstellar Didact was the one who was talking to the Librarian in the Halo 3 terminals. He was also the one who originally lit the Halo array with Chakas [(whose mind is now 343 Guilty Spark) in Halo CE Spark tells John, "Last time you asked me if it were my choice would I do it."]. Ur-Didact did not want the Halo array to be fired AT ALL, so now that Ur-Didact and John(Bornstellar) meet, they are against each other, even though both of them are completely oblivious of each other.

That's still a theory since there are many ways to disprove it BUT just as many ways to prove it
i'm neutral about it until theres confirmation then yeah...

Re: Canon Q&A
Why does Chief's armor, the Forward Unto Dawn, and all the weapons and vehicles inside the ship change from Halo 3 to Halo 4?
(I'm pretty sure 343 just took artistic liberties and retconned everything, so I'm not sure that there's an official answer for this)

- Answer:
- All the fans would be happy with a Retcon BUT 343 thought saying it was a retcon would be disastrous to halo fans, so they made some mumbo jumbo about Nanomachines in the Cryosleep changing chiefs armor because cortana was bored or something
While it is true that in Halo 4 Cortana mentions she upgraded Chief she specifically said Firmware meaning the HUD and all that stuff so yeah Idk...

Re: Canon Q&A
"Upgrade"
"Shoulder plates get caught on everything"
"More cloth exposed to incoming fire"
"Decreased visibility"
"Unnecessarily enlarged collar"

Re: Canon Q&A
So Cortana not only changed Chief's armor, but she also changed the entire layout of the Dawn (notice that Chief is in a different cryochamber between 3 and 4), gave the ship a new paint job, and updated each and every weapon and vehicle aboard the ship to look exactly like they do four years later, despite being completely stranded in the middle of space with no other contact with the UNSC? Ok...
I think I've actually heard the nanobot explanation mentioned before, but I didn't know that it was official. I think 343 would have been a lot better off biting the bullet with the upset canon fans and calling it a retcon. Space magic like nanobots doesn't really seem to fit in with Halo.
