It looks a lot more like Unreal Tournament than Doom or any of the other games you guys named. In fact, it looks exactly like Unreal Tournament.

I played Doom 2, and I am working through Marathon.

You only have to play one really, then you will probably understand the design philosophy. Of course, Doom multiplayer means you'll probably want to use skulltag.
