Could the Lone Wanderer be Courier Six?

Fallout: New Vegas takes place 5 years after Fallout 3. The Lone Wanderer was heading out towards the Sunset I.E. West at the end of Fallout 3. Considering that there are no working vehicles around, it would take him/her a long time to eventually go from the Capital Wasteland of Washington D.C. to the Mojave Wasteland of Las Vegas. It would definitely take years for him/her to get there, but 5 years? Not quite. We know that Courier Six spent some time in his past out in the Divide. We learn that in the Fallout: New Vegas DLC: Lonesome Road. But he was only there for a couple years. This gives The Lone Wanderer a span of three years to travel from D.C. to Vegas. You can do that on foot. The only reason it would take three years is because you have to fight your way through enemies, move around major obstacles, rediscover areas across the Wasteland, assist fellow survivors in their endeavors, and salvage supplies to feed yourself and resupply armor. So three years seems like a reasonable amount of time to get to Vegas on foot now.

Why would Courier Six have to constantly ask questions about a landscape he/woman already knows? This of course is a detail to allow players to travel across the Mojave Wasteland and discover locations, and learn the Lore of the Fallout Series' New Vegas Chapter. But why would a man/woman, who already has lived and traveresed in this area for a couple years NOT know anything about anything; such as who the New Californian Republic is? Simply put, when you were shot in the head during the introduction cutscene of Fallout: New Vegas, you had A LOT of brain damage done to your frontal lobe; and possibly some to your parietal and occipital lobe. Thus, you have memory loss. It is possible that you lost the memories of your past, and since you were told you were a Courier for the Mojave Express; you believe that to be your career, when in actuality you may have been delivering the Chip as a sidequest you did to earn caps and loot. Studies show that patience with amnesia will often use whatever input they can gather about themselves and/or their surroundings to make a new personality and assume their role and background. They see a puzzle and make their own pieces that may fit into the gaps. Being told he was a Courier, the thinks that was his/her job; and thanks to short term memory; he/she remembers Benny's gunshot and follows after him. The Lone Wander creates this new persona based on what he knows, and his/her motivation is vengeance against Benny and to deliver that Platinum Chip like a good courier. However, the player can screw this up and have the Courier do whatever and surrender New Vegas to whatever faction to get whichever ending they choose. Besides, this amnesia would still explain how Courier Six knows how to use a Pip-Boy without an instruction manual, since Amnesia Victims can still perform actions that have been repeated beforehand; such as speech or carpentry. This means that he would already know how a Pip-Boy works by "instinct".

Where is your Pip-Boy from Fallout 3? And where is Dogmeat? That can be explained by the fact that you were on a THREE YEAR TREK across the US Wastelands, and suffered many losses. Throughout the Fallout Games, you are constantly under fire from raiders, Super Mutants, and other enemies. Isn't it possible that your Pip-Boy was heavily damaged by gunshots or an explosion, and you had to discard or hock it for scraps? The same may have happened to Dogmeat. He may not have survived the journey to the Mojave Wasteland, or may simply be somewhere in The Divide, waiting for his Master to return. Another thing that may have happened to your Pip-Boy is that you simply took it off and stuffed it in your pockets for a little bit. You don't want to wear something on your skin 24/7, that would cause itching and rashes to develop. So you would have to take it off on occasion. Benny may have simply tied you up while your Pip-Boy was in your bag; allowing him to capture you since you couldn't use V.A.T.S. to take him down before he ambushed you (because face it, without V.A.T.S., Fallout would be A LOT harder). So when Benny buried you, he took your clothes and Pip-Boy to hock somewhere and get extra Caps.
