Halo 1 has a lot of the stuff they are advertising not using.
They were probably thinking more Doom, but still, vehicles... As long as it's fun.

Yeah. No cover? No reloads? That's a doom remake. I almost want to complain that you have to aim along two axises.

You're all wrong just to keep you all informed. The game is heavily inspired by old classic FPS games. The game has heavy influence from Quake, Halo and Unreal Tournament. It's main backbone is Unreal Tournament though as at the end of the trailer it says party like it's 1999. 1999 was the release year for Unreal Tournament. Not to mention they essentially share a newer engine of the series.

How can you be influenced by halo and not include shields or reloading? I guess they must have an overpowered pistol of some kind.

How can there be no reloading? I'm confus O_­o

I'm assuming that thought comes from the armor and vehicle combat. Everything else is Unreal or quake.

Games like Quake and Unreal have always had no reloading. If you mean from a realistic stand point then see the above image.

And realisticly? You can't carry two shotguns, a minigun, a chainsaw, a pistol, and a bunch of alien weapons, much less fit 50 shotgun shells into two barrels.

I played that one doom game on Xbox 360, but it didn't really interest me.

As is true for most games PC is where it really shines. There is a vast amount of mods to suit your situation. There are maps which allow you to fight hundreds of enemies at once to heavy gore mods if you have ever felt like painting the walls red with your enemy’s blood. There are HD texture packs which make the game look a bit nicer along with HQ music made by the community. Of course in the end you still have to enjoy the features of an old school shooter. I may be a bit biased in saying Doom is an amazing game that still holds up today due to the fact I am somewhat of an Id fanboy.

To be honest, it looks like they reskinned the Unreal Tournament demo that comes with Unreal Development Kit 3. No reloads, no cover, vehicles, etc. etc.

Does Tribes 2 still count as a Old Skool thing?

Yeah lol. I got my hands on a copy a month or so ago and 2 days later I had beaten the campaign and gotten all the skulls.

And then the save corrupted, erasing all campaign progress and skulls, leaving only my armor as a reminder of what I had accomplished.

It's quite true. They strive for an experience already provided by many other shooters, although this one has much, much better graphics. #thelastofusremastered

I also don't usually see any brony hate. That usually comes from people who have no idea what a processor does, or whether there computer runs on an integrated gpu or not.

The answer to that question is yes, btw. There is no way someone with no tech experience would wind up with a discreet graphics card.
