Release Halo 5 fully on PC, community hates it because it's a port, so 343 releases Halo 3 PC on the anniversary of Halo 3's release date and adds in depth modding tools the next year.

True.

However HCEA didn't have DLC (besides being dlc itself) and MCC didn't have DLC until 343 screwed up (and matchmaking would be redundant in a PC game, give us a server browser) and of course they'd have to update the graphics so why not at the very least give forge a do-over? They're already so happy they've got forge for Halo 5 on PC, which regardless what you think about it or the game is probably much, much easier to control and manage with a keyboard and mouse than with a controller.

I thought I heard they were going to add paid DLC after the year of free updates was up (obviously warzone firefight falls in that period and here's to it being free *chink*).

They already said they can't do that cuz the physics are tied to the framerate. Otherwise, they would have done it after the backlash they got at launch from all the casual fans who didn't check up on the development at all and thought Halo == splitscreen and bought it without checking the back of the box.

Ah, that explains a lot

But as far as I know it isn't that hard to untie physics from the framerate, so I'm still not too certain if that's true

We....actually had to deal with that issue at one point. Its annoying if everything is tied to your framerate.

The physics are tied to the framerate but the server (hopefully, otherwise hax will be sooper ez) should handle all the calculations, the client just sends input, receives the game state (ideally), and does calculations on things that don't matter to gameplay (ie ragdolls, bullet holes and tracers, particle effects). At least that's how I think it works.

In any case, it only means that servers need to have a consistent framerate. Your client framerate should have no effect on the physics (except maybe ragdoll ones).
I also assume by R93's use of "had to deal" that they fixed it.

It's indeed for hobbyists, I don't see myself using it when I'm an adult, but it's just PERFECT for hobbyists

It's indeed for hobbyists, I don't see myself using it when I'm an adult, but it's just PERFECT for hobbyists

Also, I don't know what you want to say with that reddit post, you can easily unlock FPS if you want, it's just easyer to lock it.

My games are normally Always 60 FPS locked, you really don't need much more then that and it's easyer to develop at a stable framerate. The biggest problem I've with unlocked fps is that the movement speed just doesn't feel right on a higher FPS but it actually does on a lower FPS. If I lock it at a specific framerate I can make the movement speed as satisfying as possible
